Arrelle Fine Linens is actually the continuation of a well-known bedding franchise started in 1980 and owned by Beverly Rosenberg, Robert’s mom. Beverly’s bed linen shop was one of the first on Wells Street along the River North landscape almost 30 years before the neighborhood evolved into the major gallery and restaurant district in Chicago, and the center for high end retail it is today. Centrally located it was also one of the first places in the Midwest where you could buy fluffy goosedown comforters, duvet covers and feather beds. Then in 1989, the family decided to take the business independent with a new focus on couture bed linens, thus leading to the creation of Arrelle Fine Lines.
In 1998, Lisa and Robert were the proud recipients of The Retailer of the Year Award presented by the Home Fashions Products Association and the New York Home Textile Show. This once-in-a-lifetime award was for recognition as an independent retailer with achievements and contributions as leaders in the home textile industry. The other 1998 winners included Eddie Bauer Home, Pottery Barn and Martha Stewart for Kmart. Recently we were honored for creative excellence with the 2006 Retail Star award by Home Textiles Today Magazine, being listed among the top 50 home fashion retailers in the U.S.
Voted among the 10 best linen shops in the America, Arrelle Fine Linens and the Rosenbergs have frequently appeared in important trade and shelter publications throughout their history.
